When measuring for your window coverings, you need to measure the width between the points where you will place the brackets. Measure the top inside the casing to the sill.

For outside mounting you will need to measure the overall width that you want covered. You will need to make sure that you have at least one inch of flat surface on the inside casing in order to install the brackets. Leave room enough to overlap the window by 1 and 1/2 inches on each side. You will also need to measure the area above the window at least 3 inches to the bottom sill.

When deciding on your window covering, you need to consider them for appearance, sunlight control, privacy, glare, easy installation, design, and more. Mini blinds meet almost all requirements necessary to be safe and very efficient to use. You can use them alone or with curtains to complete the look you are hoping to achieve.

Because they are small they are not very good at insulating like the larger ones.
